This presentation shares findings from a qualitative study on implementing high-quality Chinese-English dual language immersion programs in an international school context. Drawing on interviews with program leaders from seven international schools, the study identifies a phased implementation process and highlights the role of linguistically and culturally responsive leadership in achieving the core goals of dual language education: bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and sociocultural competence.
